The controls are are creatively designed and function properly. It was either cheap units with a lot of plastic, or the very high priced ones. My only complaint, and this is something I never have to complain about when items are shipped directly from Amazon, but this one was, is that the unit was shipped only in it's original box and by the time it was delivered on my doorstep, the box was open at one end and the parts inside were scattered so that we weren't sure if everything was there until it was time to install it a month later. As a told Amazon in my review of the packaging, I've recieved $4 non-fragle items much better packaged than my $1500 shower.
