Troy Industries claims these battle sights will handle the heat from being mounted on piston gas blocks. The circular shape also complements the rear ring apertures and many other optics, allowing for fast target acquisition.The white text on the front does seem kind of distracting, but the entire sight and the retention system is made extremely well. UPDATE: 20 MAR 2012 After using these sights for nearly 2 years, the sights are holding fine. My gas block is on the same plane as the railed upper receiver, and the gas block is from my Adams Arms piston conversion kit. The front sight handles the heat like a champ, although some residue/carbon does build up on the sight during normal use. It cleans off using CLP. |
